Assistant Professor, Digital Media

Contract faculty position available August 19, 2016 with possibility of renewal.

Responsibilities: teach from a menu of courses in the School of Art’s Digital and Time Based Art curriculum at basic through advanced levels with the possibility of teaching foundations or specialty courses that expand curriculum with an emphasis on interactivity across intermedia, sculpture, visual communications & animation, as needed.

Minimum qualifications: MFA in Intermedia Arts, Time Based Media, Media Art, or similar appropriate concentration; record of successful undergraduate and/or graduate level teaching experience at a college level; studio practice and teaching that demonstrate skill in any combination of the following: experimental and hybrid applications of digital and electronic time based media art, interactive media, creative coding, physical computing, web based art, sound art, video installation, experimental animation, augmented/virtual reality, 3-D modeling or digital fabrication; a strong and active record of exhibitions or artistic accomplishments; Apple platform expertise, and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite.

Preferred qualifications: two years of teaching experience at the college level; a broad knowledge of the history and theory of Media Art.
