- The Visual Art & Technology (VA&T) program seeks an adjunct professor to teach Art on the Internet. One of the many electives offered in the program, this course covers foundational knowledge of HTML & CSS, working with CMS platforms like WIX or WordPress, experimenting with JS animation tools, as well as thinking critically about current cultural, social, and political dilemma’s intensified by pervasive network technology. Students will create works of art to be exclusively viewed through the internet including poetry, image-collage, animation, video journals, and other digital ephemera. This course can be taken by majors and non-majors but is intended to be a combined theory/practice course. Ideal candidates should be familiar with the technical know how of making art online as well as a rich understanding of contemporary discourses within net art.

- The Visual Arts & Technology (VA&T) program seeks an adjunct professor to teach Moving Image: In Space. Part of the VA&T program’s Moving Image concentration, this course covers the foundational creative skills using software to appropriate, manipulate, and create 3D objects and spaces. Concepts such as topology, scale, rendering, and simulating physics will be discussed through readings and practiced by generating creative projects. This course is required for all visual art students and may include non-majors as well. In particular, the VA&T program seeks faculty who can embrace the traditions and techniques this class covers but with a broad and contemporary approach. Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Cinema4D are required.

- The Visual Arts & Technology (VA&T) program seeks an adjunct professor to teach upper-level design. Part of the VA&T program’s design curriculum, this course covers advanced graphic design applications such as branding and identity systems, product packaging, and exhibition design. Concepts such as design research, design systems, prototyping and installation will be explored by generating creative projects. This course concurrently serves students in Design II and Design III. This course is required for all design concentration students who have taken Design I. In particular, the VA&T program seeks faculty who can embrace the traditions and techniques this class covers but with a broad and contemporary approach.

Under this appointment, your responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining course syllabus, teaching assigned classes, attending all class sessions, grading and providing appropriate feedback to students, scheduling office hours, completing all assessments requirements, and attending at least one orientation meeting. You will also be required to provide your students and the College of Arts & Letters office with a comprehensive course syllabus before the start of the semester. The syllabus should include all course requirements, grading policy, assignments, expected exams and required reading. You will provide us with your textbook order in-time for materials to arrive well in advance of the first week of classes. Finally, you will be required to adhere to the policies as stated in the CAL faculty handbook.
Qualifications: Experience teaching at the University level required. All candidates must have already taught the specific course listed, or an equivalent.
