Adjunct Instructor in Design and Media at Rutgers
The Department of Visual Arts at Rutgers / Mason Gross School of the Arts seeks an adjunct instructor to teach design and media, a sophomore level studio course introducing interaction design thinking and relevant technologies. There is an existing syllabus, and an opportunity to collaborate with experienced faculty in this area.
The ideal candidate would have extensive interest in electronic arts and its subcultures as well as knowledge in recent history of media arts, universal interaction design principles and experience in creative programming. S/he must have the ability to teach at the beginner level:
— procedural drawing, interaction design and data visualization through processing or other graphic coding frameworks
— basic principles of graphical and natural user interfaces
— physical interaction and electronic prototyping
— algorithmic motion
— projection mapping
— html/css

We are looking to fill two positions, one to teach two sections and the other to teach one.
The semester runs from January 20 to May 4, 2015.
The school is located in New Brunswick NJ, an hour from NYC by train (NJ Transit).
