Adjunct Professor – Digital Design – University of San Francisco

Job Title:
Adjunct Professor – Digital Design

Job Summary:
The Design Program at the University of San Francisco is seeking 1-2 part-time instructors to teach Visual Communication II in the Fall 2019 semester.

Visual Communication II is the second in our introductory series of design courses where students are introduced to design thinking, process, production and theory. While Vis Com I introduces these ideas primarily through print media, Vis Com II will introduce them through basic web and interaction skills in designing for the screen. The class is required for all Design majors and minors. Instructors would be required to teach basic web skills (HTML, CSS, and some WYSIWYG editing) in addition to having an understanding of design basics. Full syllabi and classroom assignments are available for use.

The pay is approximately $7520 per course, with a potential to teach two courses. Part-time instructors have access to our library resources, gym facilities, are eligible for commuter benefits, a small pool of grant money, and other resources. The course also receives a modest budget that can be used for guest speakers and field trips.

USF is a small liberal arts school with a strong social justice mission. Our small class sizes cap at 15 to allow for discussion and engagement in the classroom. Learn more here: https://www.usfca.edu/arts-sciences/undergraduate-programs/art-architecture/design
