Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Department of Visual Arts & Art History (Broward Campuses) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Graphic Design at the level of Assistant Professor, starting August 2019. The successful candidate must be committed to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring. The teaching load is five courses per academic year. A strong interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration is welcomed as well as the willingness and ability to seek external research funding. Additional responsibilities include oversight of facilities, active engagement in the shared responsibilities of departmental service and faculty governance, and service to the university and community.
- Master of Fine Arts from an accredited institution or other terminal degree in graphic design, visual communication, digital media, or interaction design required by time of application.
- Must have an accomplished portfolio of design work.
- Demonstrated teaching and professional experience in the following areas: interactive design, design theory, visual design principles, and typography required.
- Must have a developing record of creative research.

About: The Department of Visual Arts and Art History, an integral component of the School of the Arts at Florida Atlantic University, provides students with a forum that actively engages and expands their creative and scholarly abilities within the context of a disciplinary and interdisciplinary setting. The program is devoted to offering a diverse curriculum dedicated to educating designers, artists, and art historians. There are more than 800 majors currently enrolled, making it one of the largest art programs in the state of Florida.
