Assistant Professor (Tenure Track), Digital Photography, California State University San Marcos
Effective Date: Fall August 2019
The Art, Media, and Design Department at California State University San Marcos seeks a full-time tenure track candidate whose work is based in digital photography. The candidate should demonstrate a professional record of exhibition in photographic practices and scholarly expertise in critical histories and theories of photography and representation. Hybrid practices that include photography are welcomed. Candidates with work that contributes to the college and university mission and commitment to diversity are encouraged to apply. The student-centered, interdisciplinary department seeks applicants with a passion for instigating thoughtful and relevant artwork from a diverse student body.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Fine Arts or equivalent experience. Strong national/international exhibition record and
minimum 2 years of college level teaching experience.
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College level teaching experience beyond 2 years preferably with diverse and/or underserved communities. Demonstrated experience in program and curriculum development.
Work that embodies themes of diversity through culture, identity and/or value systems. Record of mentorship across a diverse student population. Demonstrated intercultural commitment and experience with diverse groups in teaching, research and/or service is preferred.
