Overview:
The Department of Art+ Visual Studies in the College of Arts, Sciences, Business, and Education at Winston-Salem State University seeks to fill a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a specialization in Graphic Design with a start date of August 2024. Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, serving as faculty advisor, mentoring, and coaching students inside and outside the classroom, maintaining an active record of creative activity, facilitating presentations at professional conferences, engaging in the procurement of extramural funding, participating in departmental, College, and university service as well as engaging in service to one’s professional discipline and the larger Winston-Salem and Forsyth County community.

Requirement:
• Candidates must have an M.F.A. or terminal degree in graphic design, design, digital media, interaction design, industrial design, or related fields.
• Extensive industry experience (five or more years) in graphic design is also preferred.
• Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
• Ideal candidates will possess a strong commitment to teaching a broad range of graphic and digital design classes offered within our curriculum.
• Have full working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud software.
