Lightening Talks: Current Questions in New Media Art
The New Media Caucus invites members including artists, art historians, and theorists to submit proposals for seven-minute lightning talks on Current Questions in New Media Art for a 90-minute, off-site session during 2014 College Art Association in Chicago. The lightning talk format is intended to provide a wide range of ideas in a short amount of time.
Proposals should address questions pertinent to current creative, technological, cultural, curatorial, aesthetic, and theoretical issues in New Media Art. This session is not intended for showing personal work.
We publish simultaneous web and print on-demand CAA Conference editions yearly in Media-N, the journal of the new Media Caucus. Participants are expected to provide materials for publication.
The session will be held in Bar Louie on Friday, February 14. The venue has a full bar and kitchen items available for purchase, and there will be time after the presentations for mingling and discussion.
Proposals must include:
• 200-400-word abstract describing your concept
• Current CV
Please email proposals to Stacy Stormes, firstname.lastname@example.org.
• Deadline for submission is November 25.
