NMC to Receive $10,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
The New Media Caucus (NMC) is pleased to announce it has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to receive a Grants for Arts Projects award of $10,000. This grant will support “New Rules: New Media Artists in Conversation,” a programming series in collaboration with Artists and Hackers podcast. This grant is one of 1,251 Grants for Arts Projects awards totaling nearly $28.8 million that were announced by the NEA as part of its first round of fiscal year 2023 grants.
“The National Endowment for the Arts is proud to support arts projects in communities nationwide,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD. “Projects such as this one with the New Media Caucus strengthen arts and cultural ecosystems, provide equitable opportunities for arts participation and practice, and contribute to the health of our communities and our economy.”
Artists and Hackers and the NMC will work together to create programming that aligns with their shared mission of examining current conversations in the evolving field of new media art and promoting an environment of equality, inclusion, and respect for difference.
With the generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts and in collaboration with Artists and Hackers podcast, “New Rules: New Media Artists in Conversation” will support a series of podcast episodes, public programming, and an exhibition in the NMC’s online Header/Footer Gallery that features diverse voices in new media art.
Stay tuned for more information about our public kickoff on the evening of February 17th, 2023 in NYC!
