Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication Design: Tenure-track

Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication Design: Tenure-track assistant or associate professor in graphic design, beginning August 20, 2018. Responsibilities will include teaching and advising in communication design at the undergraduate level, with opportunity for graduate teaching; creative work and/or research that demonstrates an active creative/scholarly agenda of significance to the design field; and service requirements such as committee work, facility supervision, and/or program administration. Qualifications: MFA in graphic design, communication design, experience design or related area (by start date of August 20, 2018) For appointment as Associate Professor, require an established record of teaching and creative endeavors. Preferred Qualifications: Consideration may be given to candidates with professional experience in the field, teaching experience, a strong knowledge of the communication/graphic design field including software and production expertise or skills in interaction design.

Instructor/Visiting Assistant Professor Spring 2018 semester position in the Communication Design Program.

Spring 2018 semester position in the Communication Design Program. Duties/Physical Demands: Teach undergraduate courses in the major and/or minor with the possibility for graduate teaching in experience design; advise students in the communication design program major and/or minor; committee work; some facility supervision and equipment management. Minimum Qualifications: For appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor require terminal degree in graphic design or related field (Master’s of Fine Arts or related degree); for appointment as Instructor require Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related degree and at least five years of experience in design or related field. Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in interaction design software and teaching experience.

Visiting Assist. Professor/Instructor Communication Design, Spr/Fall 2018, possible extension through 2018-19

Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor in Communication Design for a Spring and Fall 2018 appointment, with the possibility of extending the appointment through the 2018-19 academic year. Duties/Physical Demands: Teach undergraduate courses in the major and/or minor with the possibility for graduate teaching in experience design; advise students in the communication design program major and/or minor; committee work; some facility supervision and equipment management. Minimum Qualifications: MFA in graphic design or related field by date of appointment. Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in interaction design software; teaching experience.
