CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS DUE DECEMBER 15, 2017 The 3rd annual North Texas Digital Fabrication Symposium (NTDFS) highlights the creative potential for digital fabrication tools and techniques to reconnect us to our humanity. Contrary to society’s worst fear of the dystopian impact of technology, innovative and creative uses of digital fabrication open up possibilities for reconsidering the way humans learn, make and connect through the creative arts. The NTDFS is intended to be a forum for considering the hybrid, interdisciplinary and creative futures that lead us back to the complex imperfection of our humanity.

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS: NMC Showcase during CAA 2018 in Los Angeles

The ninth annual NMC Showcase will be held during CAA 2018 on Thursday February 22th   at 701 West Cesar E. Chavez Avenue, Suite 203, Los Angeles 90012. The NMC showcase is a series of rapid-fire presentations by 16 NMC members (6 minute presentations). It has proven to be a great forum to get to know the work of a number of fellow members in a lively atmosphere and a great way to present your work to like-minded individuals.  Several spots are reserved for graduate students currently enrolled in an MFA or PHD program.

Assistant or Associate Professor of Creative Technologies at School of Visual Arts Virginia Tech

The School of Visual Arts (SOVA) at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level in the Creative Technologies (CT) program effective August 2018. SOVA is seeking a colleague who will complement current faculty within the CT program in terms of their research and teaching qualifications, with a focus on gaming and immersive environments. The successful candidate will take on opportunities that require an integrative approach to teaching and research embracing the technology-mediated intersection of the arts, design, science, and engineering.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Graphic Design at Texas Woman’s University

The Department of Visual Arts seeks a candidate to lead the Graphic Design area, which includes degrees on the undergraduate and graduate levels. Qualifications include a terminal degree (MFA, MDes, or PhD) in Graphic Design, or related fields. Experience including graduate teaching, as well as a record of client work, exhibitions, publications, and/or any other peer-reviewed accomplishments for intellectual endeavors, is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will employ new technologies, alongside traditional approaches, and have the ability to teach courses on all levels of undergraduate teaching (foundation/core, intermediate, advanced concentration, cross-disciplinary, and special topics), graduate teaching (seminars, independent studies, theory and practice), and online, as well as train and supervise graduate students and other faculty in the area.
