
The New River – Issue Launch and Performance Event – Virginia Tech
The New River: A Journal of Digital Art and Literature will be hosting a launch event for our Fall 2021 issue. This will be held on Friday, December 3rd, at 2pm ET via Zoom. All are welcome, though registration is required at: .
The event will begin with a premiere, “platform sabotaging” performance by digital artist Herdimas Anggara, followed by an introduction and celebration of our new issue. Please know that the performance segment may include some flashes or glitch effects.
The new issue features work by Dalena Tran, Nick Montfort, Andrew W. Smith, Jody Zellen, Nilufar Karimi and Eliseo Ortiz, Kimberly Lyle, Jonah King, Robert Spahr, Caleb Foss, Vincent Morisset and Sean Michaels, Owen Roberts, and others.

The New River is a journal of digital/new media writing and art. When founded by Edward Falco with help from Len Hatfield in 1996, The New River was the first journal devoted exclusively to digital writing and art. The New River posts new issues twice a year in December and May, and it has been selected by the Electronic Literature Organization for inclusion in the Library of Congress’s Internet Archive Project. It is affiliated with Virginia Tech’s MFA in Creative Writing program.
