The Department of Media Study at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York is hiring a Visiting Assistant Professor in Media Production.

We seek candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: computational media, sound design, mobile media, animation, physical computing, AR/VR, and/or video game design.

The Visiting Assistant Professor will teach two courses per semester while maintaining an active program of scholarship and/or artistic production in their areas of expertise. This is a non-tenure-track, full-time faculty position with an academic-year (10-month) obligation and an initial two-year contract.

As artists and scholars, Media Study faculty pursue varied and interdisciplinary methods: historical, theoretical, experimental, practice-led and practice-based. We are seeking applicants who can contribute to our community that works at the intersection of theory, research, and media production by specializing in one or more of these areas.

The Department of Media Study has undergraduate BA programs in media production and studies, a Game Studies Certificate program, and graduate programs at the MAH, MS, MFA, and PhD levels.
