Visiting Professor of Digital Media Art – Interactive Design – Hamline University

The Digital Media Arts department at Hamline University (St. Paul, MN) seeks applicants for a one-year Visiting Faculty position in Interactive Design for Academic Year 2022-2023.

The course load for this position will include foundations-level Intro to Digital Media Arts courses, a two-course sequence in web design (hand coding HTML, CSS, basic JS) and an intro level course developed according to the expertise of the faculty member (7 courses total). Topics of particular interest include 3D animation, VR/AR, digital illustration, and data visualization. Faculty members are expected to participate in the Senior Seminar course, student portfolio reviews, ongoing curricular development, and assessment review. The successful candidate should have an MFA in Digital Art, Interactive Design, New Media or related field. Candidates should have a record of teaching excellence, and have a strong portfolio of professional work.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong commitment to broad liberal arts and interdisciplinary education, excellent teaching skills, experience supporting diverse students, and the ability to motivate students into active creative production.
