2025 Vagner Mendonça-Whitehead Microgrant Fund
The New Media Caucus (NMC) invites applications for the 2025 Vagner Mendonça-Whitehead Microgrant Fund. The microgrant supports equity, inclusion, and diversity in our community through unrestricted grants of up to $1000 to BIPOC artists and scholars in the new media art field at any stage of their careers. In addition to monetary funds, grant awardees also receive support in the form of an optional exhibition opportunity in the NMC Header/Footer Gallery and a Member Spotlight Feature on our website.
Applicants must provide an artist or research statement (600 words max), a short biography (300 words max), and 3-5 work samples (artwork or writing). For artists, the work samples should demonstrate at least one completed and web-friendly work. Applicants who have not received an award previously from NMC will receive primary consideration.
Applications are due on February 17th, 2025 at 11:59 EST and can be submitted here.
The inaugural call for microgrant applications in 2023 received an overwhelming response, and the NMC has been fundraising to increase the amount available for 2024. 100% of your tax-deductible donations made before January 1 will go directly to recipients of the 2024 microgrant through our annual open call.
The 2023 Microgrant recipients, Wednesday Kim, Asma Kazmi, and Chanee Choi, are currently featured in Header/ Footer Gallery. Check it out, and help us support more excellent artists and scholars!
